About Don Luis
Born in the heart of the Mexican culture, and professionally trained in the United States, Don Luis Molinar incorporates his cultural heritage, professional/holistic education, individual life experiences/lessons, in guiding individuals in creating a new life out of victim stance and limitation. He does this by helping students connect with their true essence and their own individual truth. In 1969, a near-death experience gave Don Luis the ground to share the message that we humans are more than our physical bodies, minds and emotions. Don Luis was shot down, while flying a combat helicopter in the Republic of Viet Nam for the U.S. Army, and was unconscious for several days. While aboard the hospital ship USS Repose, anchored near the coast of Viet Nam, Don Luis was undergoing surgery for his severe injuries when he felt him self leave his body and saw his physical body on a surgical table surrounded by medical staff. He heard a man’s voice saying “I’m loosing him” and another saying, “Hang on fly boy.” He recognized that in reality, it was the real Self looking down at his body, and yet he knew that as the “seer and dreamer” over looking his physical body in the operating room, that what he was really seeing was only that part of his material existence on earth. He somehow knew that what he was seeing was not the totality of his true “essence.” He then felt him Self, float out the operating room, and the hospital ship. He rose and kept floating up ward over the coast of Viet Nam, as if he the real Self was being energetically pulled by his chest, willingly and painlessly, to a bright light to which he was intensely drawn too. The closer he got to this “portal” of light, the more expanded and blissful he felt. As he moved even closer, he experienced a feeling, as if “kindred souls” were waiting to welcome him on the other side of this transitional light. Suddenly he heard a voice telling him, that it was not his time and that there was more for him to do, he then experienced what felt as if he was being pulled back into his body and found him self waking up on the hospital ship in Viet Nam. For a period of many years after his military career, with recognition for meritorious service and valor, Don Luis buried this experience and told him self that what he had remembered about that particular experience in Viet Nam was not real, a dream, or something that he had imagined. Later in time, he realized that that memory of that experience, which had showed him that he was more than his physical body, and that there was much more to him that he had ever imagined, was truly a gift. He felt that after that experience, that it would be his choice to keep on looking deeper in him and past his mind, for his own truth, or stay thinking who he thought he was. After Don Luis recuperated from a three month stay in Hospitals in Viet Nam, Japan and the Navy Hospital in San Diego, California, he dedicated him self to his professional studies. He attended a small private college in Menlo Park, California were he got his bearings from his experience in South East Asia, and continued at the same college and attended the school of business administration, later attended a graduated international business school in Glendale, Az. Successfully completing his studies in Arizona, he started working in the international aviation field in the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America. After working for well over a decade in this field as well as living his own life driven by the ways of the world, he lost his business that he was operating along with two other partners in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, and lost all he thought he was. After losing his material possessions, he found himself searching for more, especially after realizing that he was not all those material and mental images that he had created for him self, and in 1987, after having an episode with Pneumonia he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico were he was given a third opportunity for his own rediscovery. He started working with a therapist of the Viet Nam Veterans Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico, who initially helped him transcend some of his wounds from the conflict in South East Asia. Later he worked with Sandra Ingerman, M.A., C.S.C., Soul Retrieval Integration, in energetically healing past wounds of the war in Viet Nam and his child hood years that kept him living in fear and a victim to life of his past events. He was also trained by Sandra Ingerman to facilitate the Soul Retrieval and Extraction Integration process. Later he started working at length with, Derk and Kathleen Loaks, Essential Integration Studies and started to look deeper with-in, in recognizing “who” he really was, and what kept him from living a full and connected life, he also started ministry trainings with the Unity Church. Later he met a kindred and beloved soul, a Medical Practitioner, and therapist who helped him immensely in connecting to his emotional body, as well as helping him see the need of going deeper to heal his wounds brought about his domestication process. Through her, he met and worked briefly with Dr Brough Joy, Essential Integration, which gave him one of his first glimpses to his own victim state from Viet Nam. She also introduced him to Don Miguel Ruiz, M.D., author of the best seller, The Four Agreements, Mastery of Love and The Voice of Knowledge. Later Don Miguel asked Don Luis to do an apprenticeship with him and the Toltec traditional teaching that culminated in a long-term relationship based on love. This apprenteship showed Don Luis not only “how to” work with one’s own domestication process but also help him transcend a lot of his own human domestication from his childhood and experiences as a young man. With this new awareness, Don Luis, learned a new way of living life especially out of victim stance, and in 1992, Don Miguel initiated Don Luis to carry the ancient teaching of the Toltec. In addition and due to his physical injuries received while flying combat helicopters in Viet Nam and being shot down twice and the pain associated with those injuries, Don Luis started to work with Rama Birch, Master Yoga Academy La Jolla, California. He trained and received a Master Yoga Academy, Instructor/Therapist Certificate. He uses this discipline, along with his teachings for others as well as for him self to expand the physical body awareness and consciousness to that energetic connection of the emotional mental bodies and the physical body existence. He also studied with Barbara Marx Hubbard, Conscious Evolution in Santa Barbara, California. Since initiated into the Toltec teaching by Don Miguel Ruiz, Don Luis devoted him self in doing the work for him self as well as teaching the Toltec teaching as thought to him by Don Miguel, and in early 2003 he moved to Mexico to connect with his cultural Toltec roots. From there, and with his new awareness he continued to teach in Mexico, US, and Europe. While in his native country and culture, he found the greater part of his personal and professional teachings come together to what now form his own teachings of Self-Mastery for individuals, families and working groups. He works with individuals, couples, families, and top management of small companies. He’s acquired a method to work with the family dynamic and family members in developing heart-centered communication skills. He’s also taken this teaching to top management of small businesses. He’s continued working on a core curriculum to help men strengthen their duality of mind and heart, the masculine and feminine. Don Luis continues to personally and professionally work with Jack Zimmerman, PhD, writer/educational consultant/counselor, a man of heart, great wisdom with deep Shamanic roots, that he holds counsel with as he keeps journeying with-in for him Self and teachings. Don Luis Molinar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, B.S. from Menlo School of Business Administration in Menlo Park, California, and a Master graduate degree in International Management, M.I.M. and M.B.A., from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona. Don Luis lives in the U.S. and travels to Mexico and Europe teaching: Toltec Self-Mastery, “Essential Heart/Mind Integration,” Family Dynamic and works with men in helping men develop a deeper and more balanced connection between heart and mind. He does power journeys to the pyramids of Teotihuacan, Mexico, workshops, conferences, personal retreats, and lectures in Mexico, the U.S., and Europe.
